General Submissions for Amethyst Review
General Submissions for Amethyst Review
Thank you for considering Amethyst Review! Please send up to five previously unpublished poems, and/or up to 2000 words of fiction, or creative nonfiction, with a connection to spirituality and the sacred via DUOSOMA
I’m very happy with a wide range of literary approaches and themes, but I do look for literary quality. Anything offensive will, of course, be rejected.
Submissions are now capped at 100 per month. If Amethyst has already received 100 submissions for a particular month, submissions will temporarily close until the start of the next calendar month.
All copyright remains with the author. If you could mention Amethyst Review as and when you re-publish your work, many thanks. It’s possible I may select your work for inclusion in a future Amethyst Press anthology – if I do, I’ll contact you first.
I’m happy to consider reviews of recent (within a couple of years or so) literary publications that have a connection to spirituality and the sacred. 700-1000 words approximately.
Simultaneous submissions are fine – let me know if you need to withdraw a particular piece. I try to get back to submitters within a week, although sometimes this varies due to other commitments. If you haven’t heard from me after a month you are welcome to follow up.
If your work is accepted and scheduled, I’d greatly appreciate no further revisions or editing requests for that work, unless you spot a typo (I do try to correct typos and will contact you with any requested editing issues when I first accept the poem/s). Thank you!
Whether I take your submission for Amethyst or not, you are welcome to send more work – although waiting for a couple of months seems about right.
I’m sorry there’s currently no payment for work. I’m happy to promote the work of contributors on social media.
I look forward to reading your work. Meanwhile if you could follow the Review here on WordPress I’d be very grateful! Thank you.
