SUBMISSIONS FOR AMETHYST REVIEW ARE CLOSED. Submissions will re-open on June 1st 2024. Please check back here for submissions guidelines.
SUBMISSIONS FOR THE AMETHYST PRESS ANTHOLOGY THIN PLACES & SACRED SPACES ARE NOW PERMANENTLY CLOSED.
Many, many thanks to everyone who has sent in work for the forthcoming anthology Thin Places & Sacred Spaces – the quality and quantity of poetry received is astonishingly high! I will respond to all submissions as soon as I can (by the end of March – apologies for the extra delay!).
I aim to publish the anthology in July; contributors will receive a PDF copy and may also buy a print anthology at cost price. I’ll also schedule an online launch in September for those who are able and willing to attend.
Best Wishes – Editor Sarah.
General Submissions for Amethyst Review:
Thank you for considering Amethyst Review! Please send up to five previously unpublished poems, and/or up to 2000 words of fiction, or creative nonfiction, with a connection to spirituality and the sacred to editor@amethystmagazine.org. Please send in a Word doc. or in the body of the email, and include a brief biographical note in the email or doc. I’m very happy with a wide range of literary approaches and themes, but I do look for literary quality. Anything offensive will, of course, be rejected. Please put a subject head SUBMISSION [+genre of submission, e.g. poetry]
All copyright remains with the author. If you could mention Amethyst Review as and when you re-publish your work, many thanks.
I’m happy to consider reviews of recent (within a couple of years or so) literary publications that have a connection to spirituality and the sacred. 700-1000 words approximately.
I would also like to continue publishing occasional 500 + words reflections on writing and the sacred.
Simultaneous submissions are fine – let me know if you need to withdraw a particular piece. I try to get back to submitters within a week, although sometimes this varies due to other commitments. If you haven’t heard from me after a month you are welcome to follow up.
Whether I take your submission for Amethyst or not, you are welcome to send more work – although waiting for a couple of months seems about right.
I’m sorry there’s currently no payment for work. I’m happy to promote the work of contributors on social media.
I look forward to reading your work. Meanwhile if you could follow the Review here on WordPress I’d be very grateful! Thank you.
