Apple – a poem by C. John Graham

Apple

bite &
break open
cricket tunes

ambrosial blooms
white flesh
and incandescent

cocoons swoon
& fancy bee dances branch-tangled
moon lantern leaf

green susurrus
root vein
heart wood un

pretentious
chalice of light
turning

whereto who
discovered the seed and
the original fruit?
