Is it really my brain
that with the utmost clarity
can retrieve a thought
I had the day before yesterday
in one word…despite
haste and anxiety
medicinal hangover and cloud as I sit;
or is it a voice speaking to me
precise as a needle, or a beak
alive to every cell of my being ?
Vocation: image, cave, messenger; we think it is.
