Mea culpa
Patiently listening—
the days in necessary living
ebb and flow.
This little Catholic boy holds
all his sins tight;
his past digressions.
When there is joy all around,
I still wait,
mouth closed watching,
and keep praying;
maybe this joy is misplaced
and when it passes,
feeling right again—
I still… wait.
