Kindling – a poem by Marso

Kindling

On a blustery, snow-drifting day,
writing is a glowing fireplace.
I toss dry wood to the fire—
an offering—
words to the page,
hoping they illuminate
and ease what aches.

Marso writes poetry shaped by years of living in different cultures and by a practice of paying attention to ordinary life.
